Monospore deliver a very straight-forward and hard-kicking sound with strong beats, dark industrial elements. But still it is catchy with a treat for that melodic feeling. The dark and aggressive vocals from Jannik definitely adds it to the sound and it kinda stays at the fine balance of being too distorted with its effects. You still hear the words and it is just as dark as it should be to the sometimes scary and very dark atmosphere.

The very EBM influenced track “Control” adds in a great what the band is aiming for. With driving rhythms and complex soundscapes, but still in a way very simple structure, the track could easily be a floorfiller. However, the band add lots of power and energy to their tracks and you will get a diverse combination of different elements. Both in tempo and style. Yet, I feel it is with the more beat-driven and danceable tracks the band really deliver. “Pick It Up”, “Control”, “Get Out” or “New World Order” to name a few really is something.

“Control The Game… Regain Control!” is however a very good debut album. Recommended for fans of Painbastard, Freakangel or X-Fusion.
