After a few CDr releases, German duo Objekt / Urian debuts with
its first official full-length CD on prestigious Tesco
Organisation. Their music splendidly fits into the exquisite
catalogue of the Mannheim label, with about 43 minutes of
excellent rhythmic power-electronics, in the vein of the early
Anenzephalia and Haus Arafna. The eleven tracks of "Agitation"
shift between different approaches, from the minimal and subtle
to the ultra-violent and absolute noise assault, always keeping,
anyway, a clearly identifiable structure and progression. From
the foggy noise magma of "The Price We Have To Pay" to the
hammering attack of "Agitation", from the slaughtering nightmare
of "Purpose" to the hallucinatory hymn of "Liberty", with the
outstanding sinister litany of "Chamber Music" and the
melodramatic grand finale of "Lebenswille" as absolute peaks,
the CD never looses the tension or shows weak spots.
Tesco's roost gets another new and much promising name. Objekt /
Urian show to have learnt well the lesson of the classic
forefathers of the German power-electronics scene, combining
different approaches and styles into an exciting cauldron of
electronic fury. Highly recommended for anyone into the likes of
Genocide Organ, Anenzephalia, Haus Arafna and Soldnergeist.
