808 DOT POP – solo project of Belgian electronic pop / vintage synth music producer Passenger S (METROLAND) returns with another conceptual and inspiring sonic journey. Following the “Minimalism EP”, this new release continues the architectural exploration of 808 DOT POP, translating ideas of form, geometry and spatial design into a precise yet organic electronic language.
The “Neofuturism” EP unfolds as a study in movement, structure and controlled progression, merging sharp electronic rhythms with warm analogue sequences and subtly evolving loops. Percussive patterns provide a precise structural framework, while repeating synth motifs continuously shift, expand and refract, creating a sense of forward motion without ever losing their architectural discipline.
The result is a fascinating balance between mechanical precision and human warmth. Rhythms feel engineered yet alive, while analogue textures introduce subtle imperfections and movement into an otherwise carefully controlled sonic environment. Like futuristic architecture shaped by curves, transparency, light and technology, the music constantly plays with repetition, symmetry and gradual transformation.
Rooted in the principles of Neofuturism, while also drawing from the disciplined geometry and purity of Purism, this new 3-track EP turns architectural landmarks into sonic blueprints.
L’Hemisfèric in Valencia, with its spectacular aerodynamic forms and flowing curves, inspires the opening exploration of Neofuturist design. Maison Guiette in Antwerp brings the rigorous proportions and refined geometry of Purism into the equation, while Seattle’s Space Needle completes the journey with its iconic vision of technological optimism and futuristic elegance.
Across these 3 pieces, 808 DOT POP continues to develop its unique language where sound becomes architecture: rhythmic structures become foundations, analogue sequences become flowing surfaces and repetition becomes a tool for shaping space and movement.
A new carefully constructed chapter in the ongoing 808 DOT POP architectural series, this EP once again demonstrates how vintage electronic sounds can be transformed into something both nostalgic and forward-looking – precise, melodic, immersive and unmistakably geometric.
Strongly recommended to fans of vintage sounds and melodic electronics from KRAFTWERK, KOMPUTER, ORBITAL, etc.
