Every artist has an origin.
For Markko "The Shape" Barrientos, one of the defining moments came during Mexico's industrial underground explosion of the 1990s, when witnessing CENOBITA live forever changed his vision of electronic music. Their cyberpunk aesthetics, crushing guitars, abstract electronics, poetic performances and uncompromising social criticism became a lasting inspiration that ultimately helped shape the birth of C-LEKKTOR.
"C:File" is both a tribute and a celebration.
Rather than simply covering 4 CENOBITA classics, Markko completely reconstructs them through the unmistakable C-LEKKTOR sound. Even more special, original CENOBITA frontman Claus Bita returns to rerecord the vocals exclusively for these brand-new versions, transforming this release into a genuine collaboration between two generations of Mexico's industrial elite.
The result is explosive. Familiar songs such as "Confessions", "Niño Atómico", "Estrellas" and "Fugitivo" are reborn as devastating club weapons where old-school cyber-industrial spirit collides with C-LEKKTOR's relentless hellektro production.
Released to celebrate C-LEKKTOR's recent string of successful concerts and festival appearances, "C:File" is much more than a tribute. It is a salute to the pioneers who helped build the Mexican electro-industrial scene and a meeting of 2 bands sharing the same passion for powerful, uncompromising electronic music.
A unique collaboration where respect for the past meets the destructive energy of the present.
