West of the Heat is a cinematic synthwave EP conceived like an early-1980s American road movie. It tells the story of two fugitives heading west not to outrun the law, but to escape the gravity of where they come from. Dallas is left burning in the rearview mirror. California is not a destination, but an idea, a mirage flickering somewhere beyond the heat. I’m thrilled to welcome Beachdolls as the featured guest on the EP’s third track. Her voice brings a radiant, magnetic presence to "We’re on the Run", grounding the song in raw emotion at the crossroads of retrowave and ’80s hard rock, as the sun rises over the Pacific. The project also features Manu Carré, one of the leading saxophonists on the French Riviera. His performances on « Santa Cruz, early morning » and « We’re on the run » infuse both tracks with a deep sense of warmth and sensuality, adding a timeless, human breath to the narrative.
