Desir Exces is the explosive result of Dramachine (Athens) and Larsovitch (Montpellier) meeting at Torino’s Stanze Fredde festival less than a year ago. What began as a spark of creative energy quickly became a pact: tour Europe together and make an EP. Cramped in a sweaty van bouncing ideas off one another, the duo poured the immediacy and intensity of the road directly into their music, giving each track a visceral, lived-in edge. The EP opens with “Vios / Mania,” a fast-paced synth-punk surge that channels everyday alienation into raw energy and razor-sharp lyrical tension, transforming monotony, routine, and the art of failure into sound. “Depression 401” dives into darker synth heartbreak, a haunting meditation on loss and longing accompanied by a cinematic music video. “Soviet” evokes utopian nostalgia, a yearning to break free from the constraints of the present and dream of a different world. “Objet A” reflects the angst of unfulfilled desire, a daydream turned nightmare steeped in Lacanian tension. Finally, the title track, Desir Exces, unleashes a storm of rage and desperation, a piercing commentary on the relentless overconsumption and emotional voids of modern life. Across five tracks, the EP captures longing, rage, and reckless abandon, transforming impossible desire into sound—post-punk at its most electrifying, restless, and unflinching.
