Hailing from the idyllic Gran Canaria (Spain), Plasmodium
doesn't sound like the most happy music from this beautiful and
sunny island. Plasmodivm sounds in the typical, but great dark
electro line! Links with bands like Suicide Commando and other
Hocico aren't far away. The official debut album of Plasmodivm
isn't for sure the most original one in style, but definitely
one to keep in mind. This album reveals several remarkable
tracks in song writing, danceability and production as well. The
intro didn't really indicate the 'endzeit'-style and comes
closer to a kind of cold Front 242-version. The next song 'Be
Impure Stay impure' takes all speculations away and clearly
indicates the dark and tormented EBM of Plasmodivm. This song
will definitely please to the fans of Suicide Commando. 'Life As
Slave' coming next evoke some distant Klinik memories, which are
only reinforced on the excellent 'Fade Away'. I especially like
the progression in song writing from this track. The short and
quiet 'Embrace My Fear' is an interesting 'break' in the midst
of the album. It's a cool and icy piece leading to a remarkable
second and final part of this album. Plasmodium here shows a
harder side coming closer to the style of Hocico. 'Soul
Destroying' and the 'Outro' are both remarkable cuts in this
style of tormented EBM. A last piece to keep in mind is 'My
Ghosts Are Being Fed By Fear' revealing some cool, hopping
bleeps. Plasmodivm appears to be one of the most promising dark
electro acts from the Spanish border and this for years!
