Songs have been written during 2020 lockdown, re-arranged and recorded from July 2021 to December 2023. Daniele Viola composed the majority of the tracks and, besides electric guitar recording, played the bass lines and provided most of the programming of the album; he has written part of "Last Man of Earth" lyrics together with Nikita. Nikita has written all the rest of the lyrics, recorded all the synth tracks and the vocals for all songs; he also provided half of the programming for the song "The Will to Go Far". Album lyrics focus on different subjects, ranging from the enviromental theme on "There Is No More Time" to nuclar apocalypse on "The Last Man on Earth" "Ghost Dance" is dedicated to a Native Americans ritual dance. The songs with the most introspective lyrics are "The World Slowing Down" and "Memories Inside". The earlier talks about the stillness emotions felt during the Covid19 pandemic lockdown, the latter deals with the harsh experience of caring for a relative affected by Alzheimer disease. "Like a God from Above" features strong romantic lyrics dedicated to the moon. "Lights and Shadows" atmospheres, recalling some British Cold Wave bands from the 80's, are different from the ones prominent in earlier Vidi Aquam works.
