Away from idolatry and escapism, "Hauptform" is the latest EP from the creative crucible of Brussels-based mutant project Ottoman Grüw. Marking his debut release on Umwelt’s imprint, the artist unfurls three scorched electro-techno anthems ready to ignite dancefloors and a cinematic ambient track. Across "Hauptform", Ottoman Grüw showcases his ability to inject noise elements and EBM influences to expand listeners mind, while making bridges between old school electro, techno and modern industrial music. Step in, for the sake of body control! The A side features the track “U (Control & Destroy)” which combines massive drum patterns and disorienting atmospheres with robotic vocals - all wrapped in a technoid frenzy. Following that, “Phantom Rhythmic” provides a highenergy blend of sassy irresistible electro and cold hypnotic synths. But wait, there’s more: on the B side “Hauptform” takes you skirting the edges of unknown realms through intricated sequences. Finally, “Life Comes From Its Own Degradation” closes the curtain with a dark, ambient and cinematic lullaby, where abstract lifeforms collide—a delicate ballet of entropy. Is it birth or decay? Perhaps both.
