Full of Scorpions, based in Portland, Oregon, delivers a dark, enigmatic
sound that blends elements of electronic, ambient, industrial and trap
music. Atmospheres filled with haunting melodies and eerie soundscapes
drift over chest-thumping 808s and rattling hihats. Influences include
shoegaze, black metal, jungle, goth and memphis rap. Incorporating heavy
basslines, distorted synths and ethereal vocals, Full of Scorpions
crafts a soundtrack to your existential dread. Dopamine is the first
full length release attempts to capture the ups and downs of chasing
small moments of beauty and happiness in the overall oppressive dread of
modern daily life. Undeniably dark and sorrowful, there is still
mystery, anticipation and elation to be found even if it is fleeting.
Written mostly over a one year period, these tracks represent a diary of
search for dopamine.
