Franco-Portuguese duo playing industrial/electro/noise music with some oriental sounds. METAWAVE combines the stiffness of drum machines and exoticism of some oriental vibes. It's a journey inspired by industrial music, shoegaze, techno and post punk. Between hammered rhythms and lyrical singing, synthetic basses and noisy guitars, METAWAVE’s brief lulls and respites are the promise of vital air after apnea, of foam after the breaking wave, of calm after devastation. The project begins in 2019 with a single (Misleader), followed by a live EP (What does a flood sound like?) and two live sessions at the Musée Sauvage (original track “Loop” and cover of “Hurt” by Nine Inch Nails), then a video for a new single called Monte Amarelo, with Portuguese lyrics. MEANS/END is their first LP, 8 tracks composed during the first confinement of 2020.
