MESSER BRÜDER was founded by Thomas Buchenauer and Florian Malicke in Darmstadt, Germany. Since 2010 they released three albums full of electronic instrumental music. In 2015 they met singer-actress Julia Rothfuchs who joined the band as vocal artist and brought in her distinctive voice as new artistic element. Two EPs and the album "Fahr zur Hölle" (2018) were recorded as trio, where they came up with a more song-oriented, guitar-driven and melodic style between Indie, Wave and Electro Pop. The band always had an affinity for the theatre stage. The members worked as a group and solo for plays such as "Girolamini" (Performing Arts Festival, Berlin 2018) and "Hass" (Hessischer Theaterpreis, Hessian Theatre Award 2017). "Herzmaschine" is the soundtrack to their first proper multimedia production on their own.
