"Into The Fire", the debut full-length album from Hallowed Hearts. Evoking the spectral fire of the 80's, filtered through the dystopian lens of 2020, "Into the Fire" is eleven tracks of stunning, memorable post-punk. Singer Alex Virlios (Blue Images) takes us through a winding journey of love and loss, while producer Andrew Sega (Iris) paints a three-dimensional canvas of angular guitars and distorted ambiences.
Pre-release singles "Lost" and "Shatter" quickly made it onto the playlists of international DJ's around the world. Asked about the writing process, singer Alex Virlios describes how they're the memories evoked by the music. "I would sit down with a song and it would kinda write itself. Little tales of fact and fiction that came to life while on various excursions and adventures, throughout my travels to various places around the world".
"We're trying to bring a different perspective to the post-punk renaissance that's happening right now, " Andrew adds. "We've taken all these disparate influences, from Pink Turns Blue, Sisters, 80's bands like Simple Minds, Brian Eno, modern bands like Drab Majesty, and unconsciously followed them where they told us to go." The end result is something that sounds simultaneously classic and revelatory, difficult to pinpoint on a timeline.
