| Sometimes something good can come from even the worst of situations like the present pandemic – and as if to prove it, some seven or eight years since we first discussed it with them we are finally able to proudly present the debut EP “Death’s Dance” from SPEED INJEKTION…the dancefloor-focused side-project of notorious aggrotech act ALIEN VAMPIRES!
While the world reels from the impact of coronavirus, lockdown has provided plenty of people with the one thing otherwise lacking in their lives – time to catch up on things they could otherwise never find time for. And so it has proven for Nysrok and Nightstalker – with COVID-19 itself providing both impetus and inspiration for “Death’s Dance”…
Taking up the harder, harsher sounds ALIEN VAMPIRES themselves have moved away from in recent times, SPEED INJEKTION’s long-promised debut brings us bleak beat-driven brutality. Mainly instrumental by design, “Death’s Dance” is slickly produced power-noise in its purest form, with vocals when they do come - as on “Crept Into Your Thoughts” or from special guest Attila Csihar of MAYHEM and SUNN O))) on “King Of Entropy” – the exception rather than the rule.
Much like a musical twist on “The Masque of the Red Death”, SPEED INJEKTION have made the soundtrack of this plague-ridden historical moment – and in so doing perhaps also defined their own sub-genre “Death Dance”. These five full songs plus an ominous outro will only leave you lusting for more – something SPEED INJEKTION themselves hope to provide you with in the not-so-distant future.
