Though active since 2013, OCTONOMY has been gaining more notice in the past year or so, racking up appearances at such prestigious events as Ende Tymes Festival, 24-Hour Drone, and Fourth World, while making music from noise to ambient to techno, but all with a common dark thread. Sole member Heidi Lorenz uses found sounds, field recordings, voice, power tools, samples, and synthesizers, combined with hardware sequencers and pushed through reverb and distortion to create pulsing, rhythmic soundscapes. Thematically, her work delves into themes of occultism, anti-religion & anti-capitalism.
Warhorse is Noisy Industrial Darkwave that seems like a bridge between the lo-fi 4-track recordings of Chelsea Wolfe and early 80s SPK, with a powerful anthemic bent.
