Belgium’s cult dark electro act AIBOFORCEN today releases a new 13-track extended EP focused on Benoit Blanchart’s collaboration with Mari Kattman whose unique, expressive, and highly emotional voice perfectly bends with the band’s darkish and nostalgic electro style.
Both “In My Arms” and “Tears” are taken from the band’s recent and much acclaimed 6th full length album “Sense & Nonsense”. The band emphasized the dreamy floating feel of “In My Arms” in its new “ocean remix”, and the song also received the remix treatment by label mates MONDTRÄUME, MENTAL EXILE and Jean-Marc Lederman who each plunged the song in totally different moods, from synthetic wave to dramatic minimal ambient piano. “Tears” on the contrary reveals the more upbeat side of AIBOFORCEN with a mesmerizing new “dry version” while other Alfa Matrix companions like AESTHETISCHE, SD-KRTR and PSY’AVIAH all underlined the dancefloor feel of this splendid song while AIBOFORCEN closes the EP with a beautiful and tearful “reprise” version of the song…
Hardcore fans of the band will surely appreciate that this new 13-track EP also reveals some 4 new exclusive songs! “Therapy Through Violence” is one of these typical intricate tortured distorted instrumentals that only Benoit Blanchart is able to compose and which could have been a live intro of FRONT 242 during their “Official Version” tour. “Abysses” is bound to become a new club favourite featuring the matchless voice of Patrice Synthea (REGENERATOR) on upbeat future pop sequences. Last but not least, AIBOFORCEN revisits its roots and musical influences with two radically different cover versions: with NEW ORDER’s “True Faith” in a minimal synthwave version with floating vocals by Patrice Synthea again, and with an elektro punkish EBM take on DAF’s “Als Wars Das Letzte Mal” with an angry Uwe Kanka of ARMAGEDDON DILDOS on vocals…
This new “In My Arms” EP is another contrasting collection of successful artistic collaborations for a highly entertaining mixture of slow-tempo complex dark eletro arrangements with straight modern up-beat synth- / body-pop songs.
