Morgue Poetry ist das neue Soloprojekt von Wisborg-Frontmann Konstantin Michaely. Akustische statt elektrischer Gitarren, Klavier und echte Percussions statt Synthesizer und Drum Machine – Folk Noir, der an King Dude, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Johnny Cash oder Spiritual Front erinnert. Was bleibt ist die tiefe, gefühlvolle Stimme Michaelys, wie man sie von Wisborg kennt. 14 Tracks zwischen Trauer und Schmerz, Liebe und Stolz, Wahn und Zynismus; mal schnell, mal langsam – immer authentisch. Die Aufnahmen zur Platte entstanden im Juli 2018 im Wellencocktail Tonstudio Hannover. Gemischt und gemastert wurde sie wieder von Achim Dreßler, der sich auch für das Wisborg-Debüt The Tragedy of Seconds Gone verantwortlich zeigt und darüber hinaus bereits für Künstler wie De/Vision und Unheilig tätig war. Durch die hochwertige und zugleich raue, ungeschliffene Produktion wurde die Essenz von Morgue Poetry perfekt eingefangen – eine moderne, finstere Fortführung der klassischen Singer-Songwriter- Tradition. Alle Instrumente auf In the Absence of Light wurden von Michaely selbst eingespielt.
