Telcel is the debut album from Los Angeles, California's Secret Mutilator. A stripped down electropunk outfit, Secret Mutilator comes bashing onto the scene in a big way, with raw, energetic songs that make you want to get up and dance, and stare in awe at the same time. The vocals are soaked in reverb and overdrive, creating ghostly lines that compliment the dirty sound of the layered synthesizers, and there are hints of the post-punk masters of old which lace this new-school fusion of sound.
The eight tracks that comprise Telcel are packed with the punch of a much longer album, so that even though the length is closer to an EP, the album delivers everything it intends to and more. By the time it's over, you won't be able to press the play button again fast enough.
