A clash of generations – manifested in gen-zx. The musical endeavor gen-zx is a side project of two very different musicians from the electronic sector. The alliance is created of Jan Laustroer from Antibody and Marko Hein from Frame of Mind. Both share the same passion for electronic music but come from two completely different generations. Jan is 16 years old and probably one of the youngest electronic musicians who released his first record with the age of 13. Marko is 46 years old and looks back over 30 years of musical experiences. Frame of Mind originally started back in 1988, split in 1992 and released a new record in 2017. The two musicians met by accident on social networks and showed mutual appreciation for their music. It was rather an experiment that led to a first try, which finally resulted in some intense songs. As Marko comes from the ‘Generation X’ and Jan from the ‘Generation Z’ era, the combination resulted in the band name: gen-zx. This musical experiment proves that music can bridge generations and age. Although coming from a different stage in life, both musicians demonstrate that openness and acceptance can lead to creative excellence on a mutual level.
