MP3DB.pro - System:FX - We Are the Broken (2014)

Almost a year since "21st Century" was released to critical acclaim, London based duo "System:FX" mark their official label debut with "We Are The Broken".
Already familiar to you from our Christmas compilation, after the joke track (which was oddly, very well received and promoted by magazines) "Inappropriate Touching" (Download still available) - we now finally give you the chance to see the serious side to System:FX.
Side-Line through to Brutal Resonance, Crimson Moon Zine through to Intravenous Mag; last year was dominated by hype - Side-Line were throwing around compliments such as:
"I’m not saying that the new Cubanate is born, but System:FX probably is the first band in the genre that gets close to the legendary Cubanate"
This was directly met with a massive gigging year - In March, System:FX played Main support to Hocico, and that night was perhaps one of the most pivotal in the duos history - we have fond memories of Erk Aicrag approaching us after the show and being mindblown by the performance.
Later in 2013, System:FX also played support to Funker Vogt, not to mention a headline show.
Fast forward a few months - and we unleash the result of all of the positive energy. "We are the Broken" isn't so much a stepping stone as a boulder.
Steve's vitrolic vocals remain - crucially layered upon a seeming tapestry of new sounds and approaches. Where "21st Century" consisted of energy and dark, deep techno leads, "Broken" is more evolved and rational.
System:FX have listened, learned, and adapted. Steve's vocals are more angry, but the entire EP itself is a work of absolute love. We're excited beyond words to drop this.
Those who loved "21st Century" can re-live it, as the EP is remixed in its entirety to close "Broken".
