Our life is war! (Leben ist Krieg) These fatalistic title and the provoking layout of the new album of NOVA-SPES forces the interest in it. And thats right! LEBEN IST KRIEG isnt a concept album, although the texts relates to the theme written above sometimes in a philosophical way sometimes with personally points of view but never edifying and ever including possibilities for interpreting the songs individually.
Not only by the texts you can feel the anger and the consternation of the protagonists about the theme already mentioned. The music of nova-spes is unusual hard without loosing the typical nova-spes-sound.
Far less ful of pathos but therefor a little more hardness honoured this album. But it keeps a highly danceable electrical pop with a high recognition value. Its just the best synth-pop the trio ever made in its more than ten years lasting career. Thats the right way. Impressive melodious synth-pop and profound texts together works excellent. It operates well in the clubs and live anyway.
