META MEAT is the visceral collaborative project of two french electronic visionaries, phil von (von magnet) and hugues villette (2kilos &more). formed in 2016, the duo operates at the intersection of atavistic ritual and futuristic industrialism, forging a sound they define as tribal-industrial. their work is driven by a primal, kinetic force that sets raw acoustic percussion - featuring phil von’s signature flamenco-inspired footwork and villette’s standing drum configurations - against a stark architecture of icy virtual synthesizers and meticulously programmed machine rhythms. each performance is conceived as an initiatory experience, designed to induce a trance state and transform the venue into a space of spiritual and physical release.
rejecting the static posture typical of many electronic acts, meta meat embraces a demanding, high-intensity physical presence that elevates the industrial pulse into a form of contemporary shamanism. their performances are not merely listened to but witnessed - ritual passages that navigate the tension between the MEAT of the human body and the META of transcendent spirit. in doing so, they amplify the project’s central themes of corporeal intensity, transformation, and disorientation, leaving audiences suspended between unease and catharsis.
