Midnight Zone is a new electronic music duo emerging from the depths of Los Angeles’ underground scene. Formed in 2025 by Ian Hicks & Mimi Chakravorty, the project forges experimental techno & noise from both analog & digital mediums, drawn from the ocean of the subconscious mind. Their self-titled debut release is a corrosive, supercharged 7 track assemblage of breaks & beats, topped off with haunting vocals that seamlessly blend in & out of the album. A uniquely dystopic sonic experience that operates on the fringes of techno.
Both members have been active within the underground electronic scenes of the U.S. West Coast, with Ian previously releasing his 12” EP “Changeless” on JD Twitch’s (Optimo) So Low Records in 2018, as well releasing tracks and performing under his V.R.K. moniker, while Mimi has been active as a resident DJ of the long running Das Bunker Club, as well as operating within the wider L.A. underground club circuit.
