Halfmachine’s first full-length album Control is a gloomy, cinematic descent into a world of machines and lost autonomy. It pulses with mechanical rhythms, ghostly synths, and the tension of a system far beyond the point of collapse. The result is a series of stark visions: desolate cityscapes, looming industrial structures, and the beings that inhabit them—artificial, yet unmistakably human. The album opens with recognisable song structures and gradually dissolves into more experimental terrain, pulsing with cold, hypnotic rhythms and the ambient tension of the world it creates. Control asks: are we in control, or are we merely part of the machine?
