arco trauma (SONIC AREA) and NOCTO first crossed paths while working in the same studio building. as a mastering engineer, arco handled the mastering for both of NOCTO's albums, as well as those of moYan, the band for which NOCTO plays drums. their collaboration began with a remarkable remix for SONIC AREA’s KI album, released by ant-zen, and led to the creation of a collaborative ep. both artists are deeply passionate about "immersive art," paying meticulous attention to detail and share a fascination for cyberpunk aesthetics. inspired by the labyrinthine 'kowloon walled city', SONIC AREA and NOCTO transport listeners to a dystopian future drenched in perpetual rain. a fusion of blade runner’s stark realism and vangelis’ ethereal soundscapes, their music is blending opposing elements: cold, industrial elements with the subtle poetic naïveté of japanese pop culture, forging a novel genre: 'neo-pop music'.
