Red Meccas seventh album is really something special. A double album stretching from 3 minutes perfect pop-synth track like Disco to the close to 10 minutes ambient track of Flight. All with the magical vocals of Susanne Jonsson, stretching her vocal cords from beautiful and whispering to the full power of her strength. All to Jan Strandqvist’s haunting, melodical and imaginative sonic landscapes. The double albums 17 tracks are a summary of the duos most creative period so far. It starts and ends with The Year of The Rabbit. This Year. And shows us all the summary of the turbulent last years behind. Jan is something of an electronic pioneer being in the first local synth band in 1979 and later became songwriter in one of the most influential Swedish post punk band – Brända Barn. Susanne have been in numerous groups ranging from jazz to soul and found her musical twin soul in Jan and his dark electronic landscapes. Among their merits is a Manifest Award for best electronic album and two times featured track I See Darkness in You in the BBC serie Killing Eve.
