New release owned by Persona Non Grata. Persona Non Grata is the alias of Jon Eriksson, a Swedish producer based in Stockholm.
The EP is a collection of original tracks inspired by the artist love for the dark and sweaty clubs and the feeling of being in the now on the dance floor. Persona Non Grata influences comes from his youth growing up with electro, new beat, acid, e.b.m. and being part of the rave scene in the 90's. Six compositions are accentuating the general direct beat and harsh sequences of bass parts: the industrial music relevant in this release.The striking cover art was photographed by A.M., and it’s a fitting piece for the record, depicting a strict working attitude and high body discipline.
'Trauma’ - the dark industrial tracker. He opening up this EP with that harsh bass, urgent metal pads and a real sense of twilight. ‘Testar Allt Möjligt’ that is the most tough body beat track with its crazy riff and popping snare. Next ’I Don't Need You ’ is a much more gipnotic with fantastic drums, synths and minimalistic vocals.
‘When It Hits’ is another experimental affair with kick, noise clap, absorbing swampy patterns and more grumbling vocal fills. ‘On Lead’ then marries punchy drums and pensive mood that is riddled with snaking ebm arps. Lastly, ‘My Psychosis’ is an unsettling bit of atmospheric brutal sound with droning synths.
All tracks are perfect for underground club night. Great working on the dancefloor in conjunction with smoke machines and a big solo strobe: realistic dystopian and dark art atmosphere guaranteed!
