Dismal Plight is the solo project of Gustav Tranback of Salt Lake Alley. The self titled debut album is majorly influenced by Dismal Plight’s heroes from the 80s. You can hear the obvious winks to bands such as Joy Division, The Cure, New Order and Sad Lovers And Giants as well as to Clan of Xymox and early Felt. With synths and drum machines from that period Dismal Plights attempts to create an authentic sound adapted for the 21st century.
